Living Within Samsara

My birthday is August 09th and I’m a shy Leo. This means I am an unusual Leo in that Leo’s are typically outgoing. These days I seem to be morphing into more outgoing. Do you know there used to exist a time I was embarrassed to be a Leo? It used to be so humiliating to reveal to people I was a Leo. Certainly odd now that I remember.

The star sign of the Leo is the sun. It wasn’t lost on me that all other planets revolved around the sun so… One could see that by revealing my star sign was almost certainly humiliating as I feared people would think I thought they should revolve around me. Goodness.

But this past Birthday was FABULOUS. 4th got me a couple toe rings, this awesome movie, V for Vendetta and a $75 Gift Certificate from American Eagle since they didn’t have their fragrance Aura available for purchase. A close friend of mine hand delivered to me a beautiful card but was unfortunately not in attendance. Another close friend, having witnessed my cacophony of books and journals first-hand bought me a leather-bound journal and The Language of Letting Go Journal - which I accidentally already had - and is the risk one takes when giving me any book! I shall use it nevertheless and it shall be used as a measure from where I am in time to come.

He had called two of my closest friends [and Jennifer, if you’re reading this, I love you and understand] and although they didn’t show, other close friends did celebrate with us. It was so exciting - this special day of mine! It was a very special day for me as I ate at my favorite Mexican restaurant, got to wear the sombrero and the Mariachi sang to me. What was best was that I was able to celebrate it with people I care about.
