Quentin Tarantino Presents Hostel
Quentin put his name on a movie I rented and now he’s on my very small list of people or companies I will remember to give negative publicity to.
DO NOT WATCH THE MOVIE HOSTEL
Was it bad that I reviewed it at this site?
There I said it. You know how you rent a movie and you’re all settled in and hit that play button… and then you begin to realize this is going to be a bad movie. So you give it twenty more minutes when your beloved goes on to say “This is just the beginning of it” and then you feel inclined to give it a chance? I mean, Quentin freaking Tarantino’s name is on it. Then, as it gets progressively worse, you take a closer look at the box and see that it says “Quentin Tarantino Presents.” Not directs. Not written. But presents. I don’t know if it’s a difference but I’ll never forget it.
The only thing that did not completely irritate me was the acting. The acting was better than the other two movies who’ve made it to my all time worse. But the character’s weren’t developed enough and weren’t consistent in their method. I knew no one’s motivation for half the stuff they were doing and as far the plot went? THAT was probably the most suspenseful but it was scored so terribly I could hardly notice.

Hi samsara. I discovered your website through your SU blog. The group you started over there for HSP is great. I love the stuff you have to say about living as a HSP. Its nice to feel like I’m not alone. Anyway, I had to laugh when I read your Hostel post. I too was tricked by the Quentin Terrintino name on that movie. My husband actually went out and bought it for me, because I talked about how much I had to see it, and wondered how a QT movie could already be out on video and I had never even heard of it. I sat down to watch it alone, big mistake. I didn’t hate it as much as you, althogh i was very disapointed that the director was someone else(I felt duped) But, I couldn’t even get through the movie because I was so freaked out by the torture scenes, I couldn’t even finish it. And, I love scary movies, even gorey ones. This one was way too much for me! Anyway, this was a long explanation to tell you that you weren’t the only one to get tricked by the dvd cover and the name that takes up most of it. Take care.

Thanks Gina! I really enjoyed the Saw movies. :) Thanks also for backing me up that Hostel was horrible. Haha. What a waste. Ugh.
